Korean period film “Dongju; The Portrait of A Poet” rose to the fourth place in local box office by attracting 46,578 viewers, according to Korea Film Council Wednesday.

The flick’s rise came as the homegrown rom-com ”Like for Likes“ climbed down a notch to fifth place, by drawing 46,376 viewers.

“Dongju,” a tribute to poet-protesters Yoon Dong-ju and Song Mong-kyu during the Japanese colonial era in the early 20th century, has was at the fifth place since its release on Feb. 17.

“Like for Likes,” released on the same day took the third place on the date of release, but was pushed out to the fourth by the buoyance of the American animation flick “Zootopia” on Sunday and to the fifth Wednesday, Feb. 24.

Local reports Wednesday cited viewers’ favorable comments on the movie as the reason for the historic film’s momentum.
